Uncommon Creatures is the debut fashion collection from Copenhagen-based duo Christina Højris Ottosen and Jens Kold-Christensen. Inspired by the clothes of Orthodox Jews in Brooklyn, the collection raises questions of artists' ethics. In referencing images from a religious tradition, the intention and commentary beg to be examined. In this case it seems clear that the intent was purely stylistic, executed with creativity and intelligence.

P.S. Thanks a lot for the sweet comment, Graham!! Yep, the blog's still alive although in a slightly different format. I'm feeling kind of relieved I don't have to update every day any more lol Btw, I was just thinking the other day how I missed our little chats... and then next thing I know I get an email notification about thsi comment you left me! Btw, I was interviewed for one Australian radio station (mad cool, if you ask me!!) and it would be totally cool if you got a chance to listen to my piece which airs this Sunday (full info in my latest blog post) - I would appreciate your opinion on my first radio experience haha I'm ready to laugh at myself this weekend, because I guess this will sound funny (I def. felt a bit nervous while at it!) :)
P.P.S. What's that new blog of yours is all about? I'm curious!! :)

I live in Brooklyn, and if the Jews in Brooklyn and Bushwick dressed like this i'd be all over them like hotcakes! I especially like the last two looks. What i wouldn't give to have a pair of pantaloons like that though. I love this post though. They definitely captured some of the essence of the Brooklyn Jew :)
