On a balmy afternoon in Hollywood, California, a line of cars glide toward the entrance of the W Hotel. It's Grammy weekend, and the music industry is buzzing with anticipation. Inside the hotel, red carpets and mirrored walls lead upstairs to a stage where an intimate concert is about to begin. Questlove from the Roots is DJing with his Apple laptop.
After performances from bands like Little Dragon and Alice Smith, I make my way outside with people dressed in lovely yet predictable upscale attire. That's when I spot Edward and Monica—two fashionably bold LA locals—exiting in this 1961 Thunderbird. When I ask Edward where he finds inspiration for his wardrobe, he looks to Monica and says, "this lady right here."
