The Baseball Cap

After blue jeans, the baseball cap is the most typical item in an American man's wardrobe. That is why I usually avoid it.

For the past few years, the urban trend has been a flat bill with the purchase stickers intact (see: Rihanna producer The-Dream). Despite my negative associations with this style, I believe anything can work with enough creativity. So here is my advice: take a cue from Brooklyn musician Theophilus London (his real name) and wear your ball cap with something unexpected. One of the few rappers who cites The Smiths and Elvis Costello as musical inspirations, Theophilus clashes his caps with vintage blazers, biker jackets, retro spectacles and even fur coats.

You could think I'm boring when I tell you once again: you look gorgeous! Thousand times better than men in some fashion magazines.
Baseball cap really suits you. Of course I don't like to wear what wear everybody either but often there are possibilities to wear it in your creative way. That's like you did.
As for my heart tights... :) I know everybody will wear them, but now around me there aren't many such tights. But what's the most important I love them and no matter if they're popular :)

You never seize to amaze me. Each new outfit post from you is very different from everything we've seen before... I bet if we lived in the same city and kept running into each other on the streets every day, I would still fail to recognize you! I would definately pay attention each time though. I love it how you're not afraid of color and of mixing styles and colors together... Do I love your purple pants! And how you wear purple with red... Cool.

Theophilus is such a cute name... I didn't know that it is his real name. He surely can rock the baseball cap.

PS... I was LOL at the "morbid side to Princess Leah". :-)

And yet you wear it so well Graham. I think the specs are key to making the whole look that much more interesting.

Theophilus sounds like a very interesting and complex guy.

I love the appreciation of contrast between super casual and more formal wear. I wear blazers with high top sneakers and t-shirts almost daily. Not sure if I will be adding baseball hats to that but maybe I will pick up some nifty specs. =]

But I totally love what you've done with it, you've actually made it look stylish.

Graham, you've done it! You can wear anything and look great. Being from NY I've seen the flat billed cap worn in the most predictable ways, but you make it look fresh and new.

Graham, why break onto the field as a model. Have you ever imagine, what do you think? Your presence is very strong on the photos and you have the right body, figure, acting.

Graham, i'm such a fan of your style. i'm not into flat-billed cap coz i always see men wear it in a very sloppy way. but when it's on you, i changed my mind. that's really cool!

My best guy friend has a wall of baseball/flat-billed caps. Along with a wall's length of sneakers. I think he's one of the most fashionable guys I know. xxx

I'm fairly certain that only you can make a simple baseball cap an enviable fashion statement. And I'm glad you're still wearing the glasses - they're so fun and seem to fit your personality well. Hope you had a lovely weekend, Graham!

Baseball caps just don't work for everyone, but the suprise of mixing it up with other sytles give it a different feel. Down in the countryside, hats are very popular and many gentlemen wear flat caps, initially I wasn't taken but I have seen some with interesting designs and colours and it's definitely growing on me. Very glad to have found you ...

I won't write anything suprising. You look good. And I don't agree that baseball cups are so 'normal' wear. I think that all dependes of the rest of the outfit. Couse you could wear blach cup or a pink one with gold details and it makes a very big diference :).

And I have to say that you've got really good eye to colors ;). This shirt rocks :).

i'm so into your jacket. and btw, i love your purple pants as it's my favorite color. :D the idea of using baseball cap is brilliant.

This is a good look. I def will recommend my man to sharpen his threads with this look. Its retro and still modern. I always look for new accessories to compliment his Urban Tees. Great Post. Please do keep them coming. I am about to become a regular lol
